2nd Harvest Mobile Market Brings Food to Warden Community

Jan 15, 2022

Sponsored by the Grant County Industrial Alliance, and in partnership with the Port of Warden, ConAgra Foods Foundation, and 2nd Harvest, a drive-thru Mobile Market food give-away event was held Friday, January 14th at the Warden Community & Senior Center in Warden. Dozens of volunteers from across the county staffed the event providing much needed food for over 250 families.

As many as 1 out of every 8 families in Washington State struggle with hunger and food insecurities. Helping families, children, and seniors by traveling around the Inland Northwest, the 2nd Harvest Mobile Market brings healthy food directly to communities that need it. Warden’s Mobile Market event included canned goods, meats, salads, fresh fruit, and assortments of breads all pre-packed and loaded directly into recipients’ vehicles.

Chuck Sutton, President of Grant County Industrial Alliance, said, “We agree it’s about partnerships and helping in our communities. We had an amazing showing of volunteer support for this event. Everyone here had a part in ensuring these families had fresh food to take home. Our sincerest thanks to all of them in making a difference today.”

Helping today were volunteers from AstaReal, Grant EDC, Grant County Fire District 4, Grant PUD, NTT Data Center, Port of Warden, REC Silicon, Sabey Data Centers, Warden Community & Senior Center, and Yahoo!.
