How GCIA Companies Show Up in Your Everyday Life (Whether You Notice or Not)
From your first cup of coffee in the morning to your phone charger plugged in at night, the industries in Grant County are working behind the scenes in ways most of us never stop to think about.
The Grant County Industrial Alliance (GCIA) put together a series of “A Day in the Life” videos to make those connections visible. Whether you are out in the field, in the classroom, or at home with your family, local industry is part of your day in more ways than you might expect.
A Day in the Life: Agriculture
Farming in Grant County is not just tractors and fields anymore. It is GPS-guided equipment, advanced irrigation systems, and real-time data helping farmers make smarter decisions every single day.
In this video, you will follow a local farmer through a typical day and see just how much technology goes into putting food on the table. Many of those tools, materials, and energy sources are tied directly back to companies right here in Grant County.
A Day in the Life: Education
Think about how much technology is part of a student’s day. Laptops, Wi-Fi, digital assignments, video content. It is all just part of learning now.
This video follows a student and highlights how connected today’s classrooms really are. Behind every login, every assignment, and every Google search is a network of infrastructure powered in part by industries in our own backyard.
A Day in the Life: At Home
At home, it is easy to overlook how much we rely on things just working. Lights turn on. Devices charge. Appliances run. Packages arrive.
This video brings those everyday moments into focus and shows how deeply connected our routines are to the industries in Grant County. The things we depend on every day do not just appear. They are built, powered, and supported by people and companies right here in our community.
These stories highlight something important: local industry is not separate from our daily lives. It is woven into them.
